Parking Lot FAQs
Common questions about parking lot installation
Still have questions? Call or text us any day of the week for a free consultation.
How long does parking lot installation take?
Most commercial parking lot installations take between 2 to 5 days depending on size and scope. We'll provide a specific timeline during your free on-site estimate.
Does my parking lot need a full replacement or can it be milled and overlaid?
It depends on the condition of the existing base. If the subgrade is structurally sound, milling and overlaying is a cost-effective option. If there is base failure or extensive cracking, full replacement is recommended. We assess this during the free site visit.
What is the best base for a new asphalt parking lot?
A properly compacted gravel base — typically 6 to 8 inches deep — is the foundation of a lasting parking lot. We pay close attention to subgrade preparation, drainage slope, and compaction before any asphalt is installed.
How soon can vehicles use the parking lot after paving?
We recommend keeping vehicles off the new surface for a minimum of 24 to 48 hours. In hot weather, allow additional time as asphalt takes longer to cure and is more susceptible to marks from turning vehicles.
Do you handle ADA-compliant parking spaces?
Yes. We design and stripe accessible parking spaces to meet ADA requirements, including proper dimensions, access aisles, signage prep, and van-accessible spaces as required.
What maintenance does an asphalt parking lot need?
Seal coating every 3 to 5 years, crack filling as needed, and prompt pothole repair will significantly extend the life of your parking lot. A well-maintained asphalt surface can last 20 to 25 years.
